Well there are sights such as Perfect Pets that review breeders on behalf of pet parents, ensuring they meet high standards. Unfortunately, as with so many other industries, there are loopholes for scammers to take advantage. Perfect Pets have also published a Pet Scam Alert Feature.  This enables prospective pet parents to search the list of over 3,000 confirmed scam sites targetting Australians, as well as being able to report and submit suspected sites for investigation.

Buying a pet is a life long decision. It requires careful thought and due diligence to ensure you can find a furry friend that will be with your family for the long-term.
